Happy New Year 2012

I like to wish everybody with the New Year customary “good health, prosperity and peace” for the year 2012. Although it is a bit late, I do sincerely hope the very best for the New Year 2012 for everyone.

I guess most of you might wonder what is so great. You are right: with the US distracted by the presidential election; Europe on the brink of a meltdown; and China, the world’s engine of growth, is slowing down.  However  there are many, many good and noble things.

Good health: although my family members and friends have gone through tough patches but more
importantly they have gone through it amazing wonderfully. There are many things that are more right
and correct now than when things had gone appallingly bad. It is so important to believe in good health. When
parts of our body are not working, just remember the parts that are working. Instead of lamenting and
complaining, we should be grateful for what we have. As the saying goes “As one state of mind can bring
about a disease, another can effect a cure”. We should count our blessings and be honestly thankful and
rejoice for what we have.

Prosperity is a vital and crucial ingredient, and I have been told that it is does not suggest just being wealthy and fabulously loaded. It does mean being more successfully productive in everything we do. It also stands for being really and sincerely happy and extremely joyful with ourselves, during each and every day of our lives.

Finally, peace and everybody can achieve real serenity and harmony in our lives. We must forget the negative behavior and attitude & embrace and change to adapt to the positive values of life’s tribulations, be truly happy. Banish extreme dislike and be extremely free to live and to love. Just free your mind with from worries and hatred, and instead live day by day as if it was your last day.

We should not abandon good health, prosperity and peace. Always look on the brighter side of life, laugh and be thankful, never on the more depressing or gloomy side of live.

In fact, there is absolutely nothing special about the year-end as compared to the every day of the year.

Revise and reflect. Behaviour and attitude. Not hurt anybody. More meaningful life. Share pain and loneliness.

No Hot Trends but new articles coming

posted 5 Jan 2012 20:28 by Helena Asmus Lim

I have been away and as with most coming home after being away, it takes a bit of (self) poking to get back into the rhythm and to catch up on past going ons.  So that is my excuse for not adding any Hot Trends of late.

Some new submissions from CLCS (from Journey of a Stroke Survivor) to delve into .. which I will put my butt into gear in that direction shortly.

But for now, I think I shall mosey off and give my shoulders a relaxing twirl and my empty belly some yummy contents to fill it.

I did warn you .. this is a blog when Just a Thought (no matter how trivial) gets captured!!! :D

Yay! Asian Groceries online for Aussies

posted 17 Dec 2011 22:25 by Helena Asmus Lim

I have been wanting to find an Asian online grocery store for ever so long.  Living in Leichhardt, it is almost unbelievable but true that we are so lacking in any convenient Asian grocery store in the suburb.  I would have thought in this day and age, where Asian spices are as common as potatoes, that surely some enterprising person would have opened up a small Asian grocery store right here in Leichhardt - preferably along the main part of Norton Street.  But alas, no such luck.

Today, by pure chance, I was looking up something for a girlfriend who was wanting to get Pandan juice in a can, and the only place she knew of was Melbourne.  And doing a Google search has allowed me to find lots of goody Asian online grocery stores.  Yipee and yay for me!  Meanwhile, still keeping out an eye for what my friend wanted - Pandan Juice (in a can).

The links for the Online Asian Groceries stores can be found here: Online Asian Grocery Stores.
